Great stavman11 thats something with a bunch of different answers i my self started with control line wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy back lol and stoped for years and had to restart all over again so i didnt go out and spend all that money right off on a fancy plane and high dollar radio i went to wally world and bought a 35 dollar rc plane came with a radio flight time was 6 minutes battery all it needed was 6 aaa batterys for the radio i still have that plane 2 channel it taught me the basic.then i went out and join a club and learned how to fly a 4 channel and i moved on now there is flight sims for people to learn the basics at home on the pc lol anyway if you have a club in your area try to contact someone there i know they can help you out check out wally world rc planes too easy to fly
