Well, you clearly have some issue - I don't know what it is though, as you never even contacted me. I will address some of the statements here though.
Obviously some "work" was done to the tire, and no doubt it failed under that abuse. It has clearly failed through one of the holes you drilled in it. Tires are subject to being used properly - in other words you have to know how to fly a model. That may not be the case here, but there is always more to the tire failure story than meets the eye. Without being given a chance - there was nothing I could do to fix or remedy this -
Neither of these individuals ever paid near $500.00 or $600.00 for any order - in fact, ARW9FMW's order was less than $350.00 totally including shipping and the optional Fully proportional brake valve. As far as Egil, he show's 3 orders, including replacement brake disc's (so he has clearly had many successful flights - as those of you know who have had to replace them). Of course none of his orders is close to $500.00 - Yes, he has ordered more than 1 set since November of 2003 - so I guess something is amiss here.
Keep in mind, before you jump to judgments, that we don't have a very large contingent of complaints posted, considering 10 years of manufacture for the wheel shown here. Of the complaints listed as of this post, we have one individual who refused to call the manufacturer, so he is obviously not serious, one who just doesn't like the wear, but still has and will still use them and a third. . . .
ARW9FMW has been censored in the past by RCU, and he took his ball and went home - filed an e-mail resigning from RCU, etc. I have copies, and will post them or e-mail them to whoever would like one. So ugly was his tirade that I received a sympathy card from the RCU staff.
Unfortunately, the moderators at RCU are usually a little to slow on the draw, and let the non-participants post wild allegations.
To be clear to all, it is the 4th of July (holiday) and I am right here in the machine shop making parts - many for repeat customers - 16+ years. Kind of makes you wonder about the quality of my products - the word is just now coming out from 2 individuals - One of which has been censored for his wild attacks.
I've never listed with Dun and Bradstreet - I don't know how or where they got their information - in fact in my opinion, they are useless as a reporting firm, as I have never found their information to be correct, as it isn't in this case obviously
I don't farm out work, never have - another Lie. What proof? Moderators?
ARW9FMW is far smarter than the engineers at Dupont on cheap plastic.
http://heritage.dupont.com/floater/f.../floater.shtml
Carefully read the section "Today, Delrin® is a mainstay of DuPont's engineering polymers line and is widely acclaimed as a lightweight but durable low wear, low friction plastic for electronic office equipment, advanced conveyor technology, and automotive applications"
I'm a "habitual liar" (by the way, he is not a good speller or good with grammar) - how can this be posted by anyone who is serious in this hobby? Keep in mind, Mr. Mathias' credit card company did not find that he had ground to stand on in his claim. Why? Because he wanted a full refund, and keep his order, plus purchase spare parts. They turned him down flat.
In order to file with the Better Business Bureau, or State Attorney Generals, you have to have proof of a crime or bad business practice. Unfortunately you don't have any of that, you have a part failure, which as you refused to contact us, you cannot get fixed. ARW's 'shell' game (wanting to keep his items and be refunded) clearly would not qualify, and he didn't file any such reports, etc.
I wonder if he told the person he sold his items to, or if he told a little white 'lie' to turn them. I don't see that individual posting with a complaint though. My opinion is that ARW's real hobby is computer chat rooms, not R/C
As for the numerous who have called with sympathy for these individuals actions, I appreciate it - as they have found, we are having a special sale for those that mention this post.
Finally, let me say, these Glennis products that you are making these wild claims about, were just used on another Top Gun winning plane. Do a search on RCU, see what you find - obviously not the information to back up anything posted above.
