RE: Glennis wheels report!!!!!!
Got to get the new product report ready for the new "Glennis Zip Ties"
Seriously though; Don't let other 'sore sports' and 'experts' convince you to modify your items. When you do you compromise several things.
First of all: The 'Arw's' don't have the experience or knowledge to pull off the manufacture of these items, or they would be doing it. Heading into the drill press to start installing wood screws is no doubt going to tear something up (hands?). In this case you can see that the compromise in the tire caused a failure. There is an issue with the tire leaving the wheel (if it did), possibly a bad setup with too small wheel - aircraft over speed on takeoff. You don't have 5 successful flights and 15 bad - why did the tire stay on for 5? It is clear to me that the zip ties would probably interfere with the brakes, so this was a desperate mess.
Second: You cannot make a claim with your credit card co. when you tear the stuff up. Period. Same goes with Atty General, and the Secretary of State doesn't handle this type of issue (don't know where he got that). The Better Bus. Bureau will only write a letter and ask for a reply from me - and I will send the photo's of the screws / zip ties, and letter, and the facts - along with a couple of hundred recent recommendations that I will scratch up. Then they trash can it, sorry, but individuals such as ARW9FMW are trying anything to tear down reputable mfgs., (I suspect because of their 'rep' status for other mfgs.). Better Bus. Bureau is well familiar with the Mathias' of the world, and realize there is more going on than they are being told.
Third; probably the most important - when you have a problem, and you burn down the mfg. on RCU, you are cutting your own throat - he is your friend, the guy that is going to fix it, not the computer hobbiest. Now I'm sitting here saying "why help this guy"? - bad situation to step all over me, because in the end, I'm not going to forget it.
Forth: With all of the big time modelers either using the stuff, or have, these guys know more? Hahn, Patel, Bingham, Burley, McCurry, I can't name them all - take a look at our users page, and the new site will show far more. The stack of magazines in here with contest winning aircraft/Glennis wheels (most on the cover) is nearly 6 feet tall. This doen't even consider the guys like Tom that are flying the heck out of their stuff. Are these guys crazy?
