I like you want to get into warbirds but wanted something unique. I decided on a Russian Yak-3 from Red Star.

I have not started mine yet but I was very impressed with the quality of the kit.
I'm pretty sure nobody else at your field has one. These are made by a couple of guys out east which is another reason I went with them. Made in the USA. They also answered all my questions promptly.
