It's not too bad after taking a closer look. I ended up filling the gaps with abut 1/4 oz of epoxy. I figured between the balsa ply and the front engine ply there should be enough holding strength.

A buddy has the edge which came out a little tail heavy so adding the epoxy, although it is dead weight, may actually help.
