Default Trainers - variations on a theme

I was thinking about what to use as a trainer for my grandkids and got an idea while strolling around my LHS. I got a replacement Slo-V fuse, wing, LG, and tail feathers for less than $40 US from the LHS. Horizon Hobby has all this stuff available on their Web site. Having some RXs, servos, computer XMTR, BL motors, and controllers on hand I built up 2 Slo-V variants. One has the normal wing and V tail, an AXI 2204, CC PHX-10, TP 2S 1320, and 10x4.7 prop. The other has an inverted V tail and Slow Stick wing, Little Screamer, Cool Running A-12, TP 2S 1320, and 9X6 prop. Picts are on my gallery page:

I see no reason why the same thing could not be done with Slow Stick parts. One of the gallery picts shows the music wire tail skid taped to the inverted V tail. After some tweaking both planes fly well and look like great trainers. Haven't tried them on the kids yet. The inverted V tail idea came from some LHS guys in Albuquerque and flies forever - does not want to come out of the sky.
