Dugster, wouldn't a 4.8v pack that small have too high of an impedence to be worthwhile? Seems like the two 6v's wired with a Batshare would be the way to go. You would have less voltage drop under a load.

I thought I said, (2) two 6 volt 1400 - 1600 Mah, OR a single 2700 Mah for the Radio and (1) one 4.8v for the ignition.
