I put a ruler in the hole where the wing joiner goes and measured from one side to the other, on the outside. I measured at the front and the rear of the hole. I then got a scrap piece of wood I had and two spacers, one for the rear and one for the front. When I glued the wings I put the spacers in place and laid it on a table I had in the garage.
