Default Are Li-Poly prices going down any time soon?

I was interested in electrifying a Funtana 40. I first compared the price of a glow system vs an electric system:

GLOW
-------

Saito .72 $230

Weight (incl fuel) ~ 1.8 lbs

ELECTRIC
-----------

Hacker B50-10L $290
Hacker 77-3P ESC $220
8000 Mah 18.5v LiPoly $400

Weight ~ 2.5 lbs

I save a significant amount of weight if I stick with glow, but my main concern is the price. It would cost almost $700 more for electric. Are the prices of these Lipoly cells going down? Or are they fairly static? I like the idea of quiet, fuel-less flight, but spending close to $1000 to power a .40 size plane is more than I could possibly afford right now.
