RE: Stuck in the middle.
Hey Fasterthanlife:
I've got a 65" yak that I built from a kit. It's got a YS 120 FZ in it swinging a 17-6 APC. This thing is an animal to say the least. I'm sure with the SA 180 it will be even better. I do have a few oz. of lead in the tail however. But the plane floats like crazy and the YS don't talk back about it either.
I might have been the person you were refering too "as pancaking it hard". I did and she hit hard. Broke the prop. landing gear, counterballance on elev., and one of the wing tabs came loose. I fixxed that and went back at it again. Was really low hovering and just having fun, when I pulled instead of pushed, got flustered and ended up doing a dang good cartwheel. I just broke a wing tab off that time. This thing is nuts tufffffff..........
I believe I'll be posting some dead weight around here on ebay. And OMP will be getting an order from me for a Yak ARF. I don't think I can live with out one in my hanger. I was a tad intimidated by it at first but now it's the first plane in the air for me. It's great to fly normally, loops, rolls, etc. But turn the rates up and she's a beast.
