Default RE: QQ 85" YAK

Minnesota, that's the place that gets very cold I recall and yes is pronounced Yah.
You didn't say which one of the QQ's you are flying. I had, and I repeat had, one of the QQ 72" span with a Saito 150 in it. It flew so well on the first flight I did about everything with it and what a nice, nice bird it was. Some of the striping started to peel off and I sealed this with clear coat. The next flight, my switch failed which was one of those new heavy duty switches and not supposed to fail, but it did indeed. I had been up about 5 minutes and lost all control and she spiraled in and was totalled.
I got into another construction project and have not obtained another one but as I said, what a nice, nice bird. Incidentally, instead of trying to get big fingers inside the fuselage to install those pins in the wing holders, I simply put some light piano wire down through a hole where the cockpit sits and when bolted down, the bottom of the cockpit holds the pins in place.
Much easier to install this way. The four pieces of wire were about 6" long.
