One of the basic fundamentals of flying is takeoffs,landings and basic flying patterns. Do not let your "new" instructor have you just fly wherever you please, if you do, your not learning basic discipline.
* Most new guys tend to let the plane fly them. "Hey I'm not doing this , the plane is!" Wrong jacko, you are. Fly the plane.
We have a fair percentage of good pilots here where I live who have no field courtesy at all, This also shows in flying ability. They just do as they please but we have an advantage. City owned and we call the cops to get them out.
Anyways, don't give up.
