If you get an ARF now, you can been in the air and learning to fly in a few days. There are plenty of weeks left in the flying season to get accustomed to your trainer and get in some real practice if you work at it. Starting a kit at this point will significantly limit the time that you have at the controls. Doing as bruce88123 suggests and building your second plane will allow you to take your time in the winter months and have it ready to fly in the spring. You can brush up on your skills with the trainer and may be ready to move on to your second plane early next season. I prefer building my planes but an ARF has advantages in your current standing.
