Default RE: Kit for electric power

I currently fly a Hanger Nine PIper cub (80" span) with an astro flight Geared (super box) and I like better than the glow engine I removed. Electric has alot of parameters that affect the flight performance. For example I can power my cub with the Astro 40 and have 3 options for gear box, no gear box, std gear box and Super gear box. the direct drive will fly the aircraft with lots of speed, the std gear box will turn a 13" prop, the super gear box will turn a 16" prop. The wing loading, stall speed and flight performance you desire will determine the motor, gear box and prop you use. I like my cub to fly nice and slow just like the real ones so I go with the super gear box and a 16" prop on the ground and an 18" prop when flying with floats.

Be prepared to try different gear boxes, props to get the performance you want.

Good luck
