GV-1 Problem HELP!!!
HoseA, if you set the GV-1 up with the Stsw enabled your stock throttle hold setup will work the GV-1 too. This is how it works: The governor uses your throttle CURVES, not the position of the throttle/collective stick itself! So, first you do the setup by telling the governor your stop, idle and full throttle points. Now that the governor knows where on the CURVE is the idle point is (with the Stsw turned on) the GV-1 will switch on automatically when all these three things happen; the M/R RPM is 70% of the speed you set for that flight mode, the on/off switch is ON and the throttle position is at least 20% ABOVE THE IDLE POSITION YOU SET on the throttle curve!! Now you ask, how will the throttle hold work? Easy! The TH setting is BELOW the 20% movenemt on the throttle curve required to engage the GV-1! So even if you have the on/off switch in the on position, due to the TH going to a point on the CURVE that you set as the idle point the governor stays off! The same thing happens (in reverse of course) when you go to idle up to fly inverted (should you be so inclined)...because the idle up throttle point won't go BELOW the "idle + 20% point" on your CURVE, the GV-1 stays engaged even if you move the collective stick to the bottom (negitive pitch). Just remember, the GV-1 uses the curves you have set in your radio...it doesn't care where the left stick is physically! I hope this helps. Chris
