Default RE: G3 Swap Page

ORIGINAL: rjm1982

Just reading this as a casual sort-of third party review....i see some things that should be pointed out.

Rick...your ego is Huge. Though I never got into making skins for the G3 planes, I've spent alot of time making skins for games. With the nascar series from papyrus (non existent anymore) I made over 250 cars, quality cars....in tribes/quake/unreal, ive probably made over 150 charactor skins. During the time that I was active in it, I had it on a website, which was also high-quality work (I'm a professional Web Designer/Programmer), and was at one point, serving 3-5 gigs of data a month, costing me about 65 bux a month in hosting. That said, the only reason I took down the site was lack of interest, served bandwidth dropped to below 1 gig a month so i shut it off. What I didnt do, is ask everyone to take my stuff down.

Basically...your saying that you stopped because it was expensive, but not because your ego-centric. However, when KE had some of your stuff up, you wanted it taken off too...now it was being hosted by them at no cost to you. The fact that you made them pull it speaks volumes...

And to Jay. The game does support the 440, as it does work with it. The 440 is a low-end card, buying a low-end card means that you arent going to be able to get top performance out of it. Every now and then the card developers do something strange, they will implement their own way of doing something. In this case, its the shadows, the 440 has problems across the board with DirectX Shadows, and the development team at KE would have to go out of their way to make it work. Its not worth it for one particular card. The bottom line is, however, the card IS supported and DOES work. Its a low-end card, and you're getting low-end performance out of it.

And to both of you...ready for this? Crying because you got banned from a forum is silly, wanna know why? Because its not your forum...I can see why both of you would be banned, neither of you have a good grasp on reason...and if you acted like this on any forum I've ever moderated, you would be gone there too. Thats the great thing about a private forum...its owned by a private entity, and they can boot you out for any reason what-so-ever, because its THEIRS and NOT YOURS....

Im not trying to be a *****, I've just read through this message ... and I remember both of your from KE forums (never posted much over there, just read every now and then) and it seems that you both have a serious victim mentality.

Lastly, from a purely legal standpoint, Jay, when you open the CD case on the game, you're agreeing to the EULA, which states that the game is released AS-IS and there is no guarantee of pretty much anything...
You can call what I posted "whining or crying". I simply made some observations about G3 and was vocal about the fact that I think G3 was released at least a year before it was actually ready and I still do not believe they did any real beta testing. It is obvious that KE wanted to get their program out before Christmas so they could make the "Christmas money." Proof of my point; they didn't even have the helicopters ready at the time and, take a look at all the bugs they have had to fix just to this point, not counting all of the ones they are working on right now. Since G3's release, KE has been scrambling trying to make it an acceptable program.

The unfortunate thing about my video card is it is in a laptop and I cannot change it. This is the only program that I have had trouble with shadows or anything else. My computer will run all the DirectX 9 tests. There was no need for KE to do the shadows the way they did. Oh, by the way, they said on the forums for quite some time that they were working on a patch for the GeForce 440 cards and when they were pressed, they finally admitted they weren't. All you have to do is go back through the KE forums and you'll see that they really don't think much of their customers.

Another thing, they did finally put some of my posts on the forum after several days.

Jump Rick and me all you want but why should we give out skins or edits, that took our time and money, to boost the value of G3 when they show us no respect?

In my opinion, KE has a lot to learn about how to treat their customers and I hope that they will thoroughly test any other programs before they release them. I'm done with them and I'm sure there are many others that feel the same way I do. One thing is for sure, the guys at KE could care less how I feel.
