Default RE: saito 82???

You should be able to fly the plane with your 82 after only about 40 minutes of break in. You are only restricted to 4000 RPM for about 10 minutes after that just keep it a little on the rich side. I leaned my bottom end quite a bit after about 30 minutes and then went flying after 40. I considered it broken in but didn't fly it too hard or get it too hot. I didn't notice any significant difference after that. Maybe just a tiny bit and I leaned the bottom end some more. The Saitos are always super rich on the bottom and can stand quite a bit of leaning out. That's where you'll get the better mileage, by leaning the bottom end.
This is a honey of an engine. I use it in my UCD, well at least I did until I sold it to a young man in our club for $70. But to sweeten the deal I threw in a couple of props and a landing gear he needed. I presently don't have this engine. But I've put a lot of time on it and love it. It flew the UCD sweet!!! Well, until gjeffers convinced me to go with a 100. I'm still building that plane.
Thanks,
Barry
