RE: proposed rule changes
Is this what you're talking about or is there some other proposal?
Waiver of Presentation Scoring - 1/5/05
During the 2004 season, the IMAC Board of Directors requested input from the IMAC membership regarding the application and use of Presentation/Positioning judging and scoring. After reviewing, and debating the input received, the IMAC Board unanimously passed the resolution listed below.
With the passage of this resolution, IMAC Policy waives Positioning/Presentation judging and scoring from any IMAC contest for the 2005 contest season. Accordingly then, the IMAC Board of Directors requests that all CD's holding IMAC contests follow this new policy and not use Presentation/Positioning judging and scoring at their contests.
Further, the IMAC Board of Directors will submit rule changes during the current AMA rules change cycle to eliminate the Presentation/Positioning score from the AMA Scale Aerobatic rules for the 2007 season.
The full text of the resolution is as follows:
Motion by Fred Johnson, IMAC Vice President
Seconded by Wally Pitts, IMAC President
Whereas, the IMAC Board of Directors is fully committed to the education and training of IMAC judges through IMAC Judging Schools, and Seminars
And Whereas the IMAC Board of Directors fully endorses the absolute need for standardized judging criteria in precision aerobatics
And Whereas the Presentation/Positioning Score introduces an unacceptable level of subjective and impressionistic judging into the IMAC Rules.
And Whereas the Presentation/Positioning score lacks the objective and definitive criteria necessary for judging precision aerobatic maneuvers.
Therefore Be it Resolved that the IMAC Board of Directors advise and request that all Contest Directors who have AMA sanctioned IMAC contests scheduled for the 2005 season, eliminate (waive) the presentation/positioning judging and score from their contests.
Be it Further Resolved that the IMAC Board of Directors remove the Presentation/Positioning rules by the use of an AMA Rules Change Proposal for the 2007 AMA Rules cycle.
