Are you sure that you have a Ryobi engine? After reading through all of these posts some of the things you mention are not consistant with a regular Ryobi. Round exhaust port and muffler held on by a spring I have never seen on these engines. Is it possible you could post a couple of pictures? I am really quite courious about what it is you have.
