What are the odds?
I'd read elsewhere on RCU about this happening to someone else, and thought to myself "come ON, that's just silly.". Darned if it didn't happen to me yesterday...
Flying the Hog Bipe along quite happily...suddenly 'splutter, gurgle, pfft' says the engine, and we're deadsticking. Got her down unharmed, and started looking for the cause of the deadstick from what had, to this point, been quite a reliable engine.
After some checking, I discovered the problem...
The motor had attempted (and failed) to inhale a large bumble bee.
I have successfully removed all traces of Eric (double bonus cool points to ANY rcu'er who gets THAT reference), and the motor runs fine again, so no damage was done.
I suppose, in this hobby, you will NEVER 'see it all'.
