Slats will increase control at low speed, it will not lower the stall speed.
If you want to lower the stall speed, you need flaps.
The weight increase should not be to much.
If you really want to fit slats, look first at how the wing is built.
Please create a dedicated thread and post tons of pics, as I have never seen this bird.
