RE: .28 in a funfactor? oh dear....
yea, i have run the towers bolted together to get the truck really low, but the shock bodies are that fat that they tend to rub the towers. i added more spacers to the top mount, but then it starts bending the long screws on small jumps...
i have done a little repair on the tower, with some south african handcuffs...i mean a really big zip tie... and it looks bloody brilliant! ahem... its a right bodge, but its holding my shock in the right place, and will be good enough for now.
and yep, i will be soldering the splits - they are each side of the stinger, nearly all around it, where it was welded in to begin with. its the side that points downwards, so it still looks fine on the truck at least!
had it in bits last night, various screws are stripped all over the truck from the crash, some got pulled out completely. one driveshaft is twisted thru 90 degrees, but still seems solid. only other thing is the rear outboard cvds, as they are plastic, the pins in them are starting to stretch their holes somewhat. the rears are second hand tho, and they have held up for a gallon or so thru both the .18 and the .28. maybe time to buy another pair - oh no! a whole £5 for driveshafts? lol - lovin it!
