CC Pixie 20 ESC fried! Anyone deal with thier customer service...
On my maiden flight with the Magpie my CC Pixie 20 ESC fried for unknown reasons. I flew for a total of maybe 2 minutes (after a 5 second crash...see more below) just to be sure everything was working right, then brought it back in. When I landed, I could smell that electrical burn smell we all know and saw that the ESC was smoking and the clear plastic shrink wrap around it was burned. I tried it again once the smoke cleared but the prop turned a couple times then quit. The esc was also hot. I used micro deans connectors that the LHS put together for me on everything so I know everything was hooked up properly. Anyone have any ideas? I was using a 350C-C, a KAN650 9.6V 8 cell battery and a 9x7 prop, which is the recommended setup by Mountain Models. The battery pack and motor were both cool to the touch.
The LHS took a look and couldn't figure it out. So they are sending it back to CC for me. Anyone deal with thier customer service folks? How well do they support thier products?
BTW the magpie is awesome! What a great trainer!!! I was using way too much stick at first, but once I figured that out it flew like a dream!
