Well the maiden for this jet was today. Man, it was very windy and gusty. I had no business flying a piece of foam today but I was determined. I only used the 10%df fuel today and will test it next with the 30%. I only tach'd it up to 24K so there is plenty of room for more power generation there.
So...
It went well considering the conditions. Even with only 24K rpm this thing climbed at about 70degrees from the hand launch, I was impressed. Jason Duda assisted me with good tosses into the wind. You can't go wrong with a world class pylon racer sending your aircraft off.
There were some engine issues as I ran it a bit rich but it was just too windy today, I was getting blown around.
The jet flies very agile but sensitive so I had to pile on the expo. but I believe that due to the mounting location of the fan unit, there is increased sensitivity to roll (which I voiced in my write up) so that is a concern. I'll need to dial in more expo to keep this at bay but the jet is extremely jumpy. (it was anyway). I was also getting a lot of wing flex because with fighting the wind so this hampered it as well.
I think on a calm morning I will have a better observation of the flight characteristics but I can tell you that this jet can giddy up.
Not bad for a piece of foam. It was a great flyer as an electric but I need smoke or fire coming out my.... For some reason, I can't stay with the electric stuff.

-for some reason this bottom of the jet silouette reminds me of that klingon ship in wrath of kahn. maybe that is the design basis.
