Think this is a scam?
That's a good enough reason!
I ran this auction by the Ebay Powersellers Private Forum, the Creme de la Scum of Ebay. At any rate, a group of experienced sellers who have seen all the scams.
While nobody could say for sure whether or not it was legit, nobody would risk bidding on it, either. Too many red flags.
It is entirely possible that it is a perfectly straight seller, but if things went sour, you would feel pretty foolish, having seen so many warning signs. And your dough would be long, long gone.
If a deal seems too good to be true, you really have to think hard.
And don't think that plain old SCAMMERS are not in our midst. Indonesia has made a big industry of online fraud, they they become more creative all the time. How about a fake auction for a vintage blender worth $3000? Cellphone, cameras, sure...people can understand scams for common items like that, but scammers are becoming more and more creative, and I would not be surprised in the slightest if someone tried to sell a nonexistent turbine engine. The scammers just browse ebay, see what sells for good money, steal a picture, and off they go.
Didn't someone get scammed right here for a turbine, out of Indonesia?
