Neverquit, You should have lots of fun with your UCD. They are a blast to fly and the mods aren't all that difficult to do to and well worth the time to keep this plane flying good. I don't know a lot about the Magnum but here's a picture of mine with a Saito 82 and it never floods at all. I think I used the same engine mount that Ron mentioned in the previous post. That Ron's a sharp guy with lots of UCD experience. [8D] Also for the landing gear here's a few pictures of how I modified mine to strengthen the landing gear block. It doesn't take much of a jar to pop them out so I think it's better to modifiy them before hand. The pictures show that I carefully cut out the "ramp" shaped part of the bottom of the fuse. It takes a little bit of work to remove it but once out you can easily add glue or supports to the inside of the fuse, change the T nut configuration for the motor mounts, move the tank, or whatever. I added some Gorilla glue to the landing gear block area of mine and it's bullet proof now. Also I was able to add some more glue to the back of the fire wall and strength it....... Oh, and in the second to last picture you'll notice the tri-stock that is attached to the firewall, if you use that area to screw into to attach the cowl you can omitt the 4 little blocks of wood that the instructions show to add to screw into for the cowl. Hey, it saves a little bit of weight. [8D] I forgot to mention, I haven't put tail wires on mine yet....[X(] but it has held up well. The biggest thing in attaching the tail is to keep in mind not to cut too deep to remove the monokote thereby slicing into the balsa and weaking the tail section. Some have used a solder iron to remove it in that area with great success.
