I too bought the Century retracts for the H9 P51 and too have been very disappointed with them.
Just like you they bend unless you GREESE the landing. Really sloppy too although I have fixed the slop with shims.
My buddy thinks the design is OK but that the materials they used were to light in some areas.
Bottom line I would never buy another set from Century.
