Default RE: Showtime

Been working on my Showtime a little at the time, trying to get all the stuff collected to finish it. There are a couple of things I've found that has me concerned.

One is the fit of the horizontal stab. It doesn't seem to be tight. There a slight wobble front to back, which could cause flutter. At first, I thought it was the way I drilled to holes for the screws. But, I turned the pipe 180 degrees and redrilled everything, keeping the stabs pressed snug against the fuse. There's still some play. Anyone just glued the stab on?

Second, the stab isn't exactly in line with the wing. It I sight down the top of the stab and wing, there's a bit of a twist, with the right stab being lower than the left. This really doesn't matter hat much for 3D, but if I start trying precision stuff, it will be a lot tougher to get everything trimmed.

I'll be using a Saito 150 in mine. The muffler was hitting the firewall, so I cut a half-moon out of the firewall and the fuse bottom, lined the cutout with 1/16" balsa and covered it. Worked pretty well, and looks good.
