I think you will find that Stihl blower engines retard timing during starting. And they also don’t produce a spark below 600 RPM for safety reasons, which probably prohibits hand cranking.

Engines are designed for dynamic balance with the flywheel and generally removing the flywheel produces unwanted vibration at some speed. My preference is to use the flywheel and also the coil if possible. However I have a very powerful 069-saw engine that I would like to install electronic ignition and use the flywheel magnet.
