Another Beginer Gas user with a ?.
Hey Bax,
I'm a proud new owner of a 32b that's in my H9 Cessna 182. It's going to be a great match, but having some trouble keeping it running past half throttle. It just bogs down and quits. Here's the following things i've done so far-
1. While installing it, I rotated the carb 180 degs to achive throttle servo position, (see my gallery). Possible that breaking the gasket to the carb causing trouble?
2. Before I read manual on the recomended props, I purchesed and balenced an 18x6" two blade. Should I really be using the recommend 18x8 instead, and can you tell me of a good 3 Blade size I could use with this engine? The only one I can find that might be good is Master airscrew 16x10".
3. After starting up the first time, with cowling off, I ran about 45min no more than a half throttle with the Sample oil included in gas at 100/1 mix.
4. Upon running up to WOT, I started to notice the rough running and stalling. I leaned the high needle an 1/8th turn and it ran good.
put the cowl on, and it starting to do the same thing again, and haven't been able to get it to run good since. Should I start back at factory sets and be adjusting both needles? It has always idled great, but bogs down and trys to die often with success when throttle opens slowly to full.
5. took plug off, and noticed it pretty blackened so I cleaned it and wanted to check the gap, but lost the page it came with telling me the gap setting. Could you tell me again the gap required?
Also using 1/8th" dia tubing for fuel, a piece of med. tube for the vent on tank, and a great Planes kill switch. Should I be using the larger i.d. tube like maybe 5/32"? I read in another post on here about someone not having a surrated end on the prob flange, I also have that problem and was wondering if I could get the right kind too. I know it's alot of questions to dump in one post, but thank you so much in advance for you help.
