So.. to not get off the question.. has anyone tried to use flaps to get rid of the ke pitch coupling.
I got em mixed and they do help. Takes some of the load off the elevator. The elevator mix, although I still do not have it set with the five point mix, just the first of five, as it sits, is situation sensitive. If you hit it just right it works well, but seems to fail out of the correct parameters. I think that is where the five point mix will help, but untill I try it, I won't know.
Getting off the KE subject, my mix is mainly for cross wind landings. The way it couples and dives on KE will give you an idea of the results of a good amount of rudder on landing.
I did the tri stock in the vertical corners above the landing block. Added one more to the horizontal as there is only one across the top of the block from the factory. What made the biggest difference is when I drilled and added one more dowel between the two existing. Now instead of block failure, I'm snapping the tee nuts that hold the gear on. Joe
