Do you understand that your average schmoe flying a 40 sized airplane probably has NO place to fly except a local club? Can't take off from unmowed fields, and the Wal-mart parking lot is not safe, too many lights, and most properties, sooner or later...they get kicked off.
Dry lake beds are pretty damned rare. So count your blessings, and quit slagging off on the rest of the world and telling them what morons they are for joining clubs, because they probably NEEDED to if they wanted to fly. Yeah, you can always move to park flyers, but they are pretty boring to a lot of us.
