I have a GloBee tach that is a little finicky ... ( works like Giestware reported above) and requires being real close to the prop.

Recently purchased a Cermark .... it may not be the best, but it has been very consistent and easier to use ... allows me to get a little further from the prop for readings.
Priced right also ($37.00).
