I dug out my 4-star 40 manual, the plane should balance right in the center of the main spar. As for control throws, Ailerons should be 5/8" up and 1/2" down. Elevator-1/2" up and down. Rudder 1" left and right. Hope you enjoy this plane, mine is four years old and still my favorite airplane!
