It is a fact that america is the only industrial country who did not sign the kyotos protocol and that american cars use the most gas worldwide! We on the other hand , have the most strongest environment regulations in the world, beeing the third biggest industrial nation, followed by the scandinavian countries with their regulations. So don't tell me we should watch first what we are doing!
We are not affected at the moment with hurricanes. We can have a nice beer and eat some chips while watching tv and wonder how politicians can be that much stupid not to see that they are responsible for the global warming! So its your country and do whatever you want, but don't cry if it will getting worse and don't say you have not known. We have or experience with this sentence here in germany!
I feel for all affected citizen and hope that they will go to normal conditions as soon as possible. Germany wants to help!

I don't really mean this in a personal way but who has been filling your head this bunch of crap...sorry to see you look to government for answers. Government and it's bureaucracies are typically the last to create any real solutions for anything. Where in the world did you get the idea government can change the climate or weather?
I'm sure even you fella's over in Germany have figured out like we have here in the States when it get's cold we get inside and do something to create heat in our buildings! When it get's hot outside we've figured out how to get inside and cool the air in our buildings! Try as we might even with the help of every government on earth we haven't been able to change the temperature of the air outside!
I hate to admit it but this idea of Global Warming may have some merit! Although not even close to the way the Socialist / liberal mind set sees it.
Whatever global warming there is most certainly is not caused nor can it be changed by mankind! Baring some catastrophic collision or the Sun burning out first.... given time... the earth's orbit will consistently decrease in distance from our Sun, similar to the way Satellites fall out of orbit. This decrease in distance from our sun will certainly increase the earth's relative temperature. At any rate anything human's do most certainly is a non-event in the overall picture of mother earth with-in our solar system.
It is also just as likely mother earth will become in-hospitable for us on the cold side of the temperature scale sooner than being too hot. One way or the other change in Apogee and Perigee of earths orbit will cause the earth to become in-hospitable for human's long before the REAL warm up.
Where in the world did anyone get the idea humans have anything to do with controlling what happens relative to our earth's temperature? The only way we can change what happens to us with-in this solar system is for us to leave it. I assure you we earth-linings will never be able to do that by holding back on advancement in technologies with such dimwitted ideas as the Kyoto protocol contains.
Oh.... and more to the point thanks, but no thanks we will take care of problems here in the States, and for that matter other places around the world as we see fit... just like we've had to do before.
