Default RE: 3D propeller

Barnie,

A lot of a 3D set-up is how you like the feel of the plane and engine combination. You will probably have to try several propsto get it where you like it. The APC 14-4W is a heavy prop and probably won't rev up very fast. This may be the reason you don't like it, the slow response. For this reason, many people, but not all, tend to like a slightly smaller, higher revving prop for 3D. A 13-6 is always the normal standard prop for a .72 and that's what I tend to use. A 13-4W may sound like too small a prop for a .72, but since it is a wide blade, it is probably close in load to the 13-6. You also may end up with a wood prop that will spool up very fast.

I realize this isn't an exact answer, but plane set-up for 3D tends to be variable depending on the pilot's personal feel for flying.

Botton line, try:
13-6 APC
13-6 wood
13-5 wood
13-4W APC
