RE: Tower Hobbies Uproar 60 build
Hi Nitro125,
As I mentioned in an early post, mine came out a bit heavy at 8.5lbs. I'm not sure how well it would fly with a .60 engine. Actually I have only had mine out one time this summer. I never seem to be able to get out and enjoy the hobby especially in the summer time. It was only the 2nd tank of gas through my Tower .75 so I was running very rich and not peak. The plane seemed to have good pull though. You might be alright then with the .60 if you can keep it light.
As for the covering, it was not as hard as it looks. Basically the whole plane was covered in one color (Pearl ultracote) except for the flight surfaces (ie rudder, elevator, and ailerons) which was left over chrome monokote I had laying around. I sketched the flame pattern out on some poster board till I had one wing panel looking right, and then cut it out to use a a template for cutting the flourecent violet flames. To get the semetrical look for each wing half, I simply folder over two layers of the ultracote, taped down my pattern on top and cut both halves at the same time. With low heat the ultracote flames were ironed over the base covered pearl wings. The low heat keeps the bubbles to a minimum.
I hope to find more time to fly as Fall approaches. I need to finish breaking in the engine and see what this really can do. I was hoping for a plane similar to my Somethin Extra, only a larger version. I suspect it will be a fun performer.
