RE: Yak 54 .40-.50 ARF need help with pull-pull elevator setup
sorry it took so song to reply guys, ive been busy. Yes this plane needs alot of nose weight to balance, i have a t.t. .61 pro with a pitts muffler and I put a 1400 mah battery under the tank and still needed a 1 oz. weighted washer on the prop. First thing you NEED to do is throw the wheels away that come with it and give up any hope of fitting the wheel spats on it. It didn't work on grass, and didn't even work on an asphalt runway either. Ended up scraping the h#%@ out of the underside of the cowl from sliding to a stop on its nose. But all in all if you want a hot little aerobatic plane, this is it. build it light and fly it right, and you wouldnt have any bad habbits. keep the speed up and it'll be just fine. I was impressed with how slow it was on landing.
