Default RE: The best economic 40 size 2 stroke engine for 3d!!

I just but a Tower Hobbies $74.95 .46 engine in my sons trainer and I am amazed at how good this engine runs. It is a screamer, especially with it's semi tuned pipe it comes with. I was running the engine with a 10x6 prop for break in, and 11x6 for flight. It was way to much for this trainer, and I had it pukin rich. I think fter more break in and some proper tuning it wil easily pull a 12x6 or more.

We are going to run the trainer again with a 12.25x3.75 apc prop to try and slow it down a bit. Funny thing is that I'm positive it will have unlimited vertical with this prop combo.

So compare the weight of your Katana, and if it compares to the tower trainer in weight, I would say this engine would do nicely!

PS. This engine idles better than any 2 stroke I have ever owned (And I have had a lot of .46's)
