I have this plane and I can tell you don't need anywhere near as much rudder throw with this plane as called for. I've taken it down to about 3/4 of an inch now and can still control takeoffs and make nice rudder turns. I would suggest you "back up" gradually to the point you feel comfortable with. However, if you put all that throw in to start you'll have to be careful not to over-control the plane.
Other than that it's a terrific plane!!!
