Default RE: I would like to dispel a myth here.

So does anyone have anything to say?
YES I think I am part of the culprit to starting this weird around the block and no where to turn conversation. So for the youngster I just have to say I once couldn't understand how and why a plane whether a 747 or a model could lift itself off of the ground and maintain altitude.

I then went on a search for the answers and right here on RCU I was told '' all the control services do is point the plane in a particular direction and the thrust is what keeps it in the air.

Perfect example : I use to love making paper planes. I made one for my nephew one day and when I threw it it stay in the air for a good 2 seconds. Then I added to small elevators pitched up about 30 degrees and when I threw it ( I was in the house ) it never landed it actually went from the dinning room to the living room and hit the wall . I can't explain it any clearer than the elevator pitched the nose up and gave it a longer flight but the plane never went higher or lower when thrown at the same velocity.
