Garywi - Being new to flying anything also, my first suggestion is to take it nice and slow. Read the manual. First of all did you get training gear for it. I strongly recommend that you do get some or build some. I was told the first thing you want to do is learn to keep the tail in towards you. Don't even try to lift off with it. Take it one step at a time and don't rush it. Here is a link that will give you some idea what to do even though it is for the Raptor helicopter. Start with "How To's - flying" - "Learning to Hover" and read what he says there.

The only other suggestion is to find someone at the Local Hobby Shop (LHS) who flys helicopters and talk to them. I have yet to meet and talk to a flyer that would not help me.
