I've experienced that with some of my O.S. and Magnum 4-strokes. When I begin to worry about a fouled needle valve is when it takes MORE turns to adjust it.
It sounds to me like you have a sweet running Magnum. They're good engines. I've had less trouble with mine than I have with some O.S. 4-strokes. Keep it lubed and let it break itself in, and you'll be good for a long time.
