I thought that they had already announced that Superman was a go, but this was on the Pro-mark website:
Most Jet modelers are aware that the FAA has gotten involved with the use of Federally obligated civil airports for sporting activities such as hosting model airplane events.
At this time, it is not beneficial to speculate on how this occurred in 2005 after many years of our successful shared use of these facilities.
It is important to know that after 16 years of hosting the "Super Event" at the Metropolis, IL Airport, the FAA is involved and will render a decision (hopefully very soon) as to the acceptance of the 2005 event.
Very competent people in the AMA and the township of Metropolis are handling this situation in a professional manner.
This notice is for participants & vendors planning to attend Super Jet Week to keep you informed.
We will post the FAA's decision within minutes of receiving it.
