conversions
i saw this thread and thought to put my 2 cents in. i've never made anything fly without a control line ... yet... but i've attempted a few conversions. first was a guillow fairchild with cox .020 and micro components. crash. next was a guillow nieuport with the same gear. crash. the guillow wood is so dense, i can tell now it's an uphill battle to get one of those in the air. i also saw the rc microflight articles and went so far as to meet up with Tom Hunt at the wram show for advice. now i'm doing a dumas vega with electric power. i guess i was just intimidated by the battery complexity at first, but it's no big deal now. i think the vega is a good beginner subject because the overhead wing can be rigged with rubber bands.. wish me luck.
