You may want to look at the new Esky HoneyBee King. It looks like an upgraded Blade with a shaft drive tail. It's designed to go brushless and use a better gyro. Most of the simplicity of the Blade but with those pesky tail motors taken out of the equation.

Will wait to see if it catches on or if Horizon comes out with something similar.

Also the HeliMax MX400 from Tower looks like a nice TREX clone that is due real soon and the price is not too bad either.
