David, the inevitable witch hunt and finger pointing won't really change the fact that these rules have been on the books for some time. I believe the events leading up to where we are now merely accelerated the rate at which the FAA caught on to the lack of enforcement of these rules. Chances are probably good that we'd be in this situation anyway in the near future.
I agree with Dan that a wtich hunt and lynching will not solve anything. We need to learn a lesson here, and that lesson is that things we say and do are not confied to this forum and can have reprecussions. I know I have said things here, that I had to eat at a later date, and beleive me the taste stayed with me a while. LEt's get on with the cleanup here and work with the major players here (FT, BV, and JC, who undoubtly have a lot more lose here than others) to prevent this from happening again.
