Typically, biplanes are poor second planes, and maybe even third planes, depending upon the pilot. You need low wing experience and tail dragger experience first, and then you'll have to deal with the added drag and inherent instability at slow speeds found with most biplanes. I wouldn't recommend a biplane until you've been flying at least a year, maybe more depending upon pilot skill!
