Default RE: First 2m pattern ship

Hey Gordon,

Being 16, many years ago for me, and on a limited budget, if you are flying a 120 size plane now, I'd frankly stick with that plane. Perhaps get a local FAI or Masters pilot to 'go through' it and recommend changes to hinge lines, travel, thrust, ... and make the plane fly better than it is now. I don't think you will find that a 2M plane is necessarily more stable at 10-11lb than a somewhat smaller 120 size plane. I have had good success with older analog servos and planes that would not even be considered 'real pattern' planes (Venus 40 for instance). A good pilot can fly almost anything and make it look good in the air. Put your money into more gas, more stick time. Get a coach to help you - does not have to be a top-dog flyer, but agree on what 45 degree lines look like, agree on constant radii, lines with rolls, ... I think this would pay off much better. If the above does not make sense and you must have a 2M pattern plane, the ICEPOINT approx $500 new, maybe used around 1/2 that (?) and it's a pretty good plane.

Good luck to you.
