Dago Red Mustang
We have hundreds of the World Models Mustangs flying locally. Our club sponsor Warbird Racing and these are the plane of choice for many. The Dago Red is virtually the same plane as the other Mustangs offered by World with the exception of the fiberglass fuse and engine cowl. The Dago is slightly heavier.
Nearly all the guys are running the YS 91 engine, very fast and reliable combination. I have seen this model fly with 46 size power and all I can say is anemic, flyable but that's about it. A 60-91 size two-stroke is the way to go if your looking for two-stroke power.
We do not make any modifications to these models less the gear mount area inside the wing. A slurry mixture of epoxy and micro-balloons is used to coat the leading edge and surrounding area to beef uo the gear mounts, some replace the stock gear wire struts with aftermarket hard wire struts.
Some have tried clipping the wings and stabs this seems to make the model turn with less authority at speed. I would build her stock... I have seen many changes, none seemed to offer any advantage or work as well as the stock setup.
These are good flying models that fly like a performance airplane, slow them down to much and they will tip stall, although this is a rare problem.
